Quality Improvement


Quality improvement involves the incremental improvement of existing systems and processes. There is an assumption that the existing structure or framework is the correct one and simply needs to be improved. Plan Do Check Act and Six Sigma are examples of quality improvement tools used to bring about quality. Quality Improvement may be applied to a business process (for example improving customer response) or a clinical process (for example improving asthma management in a defined population.
